Our services
The Centre is a welcoming community meeting place. We have a range of services and activity groups and we run helpful, interesting information sessions regularly. We assist new groups to establish and will support community development initiatives. The Neighbourhood Centre functions collaboratively with members of the community and with other local community and regional agencies to effect positive changes for our community.
Information and Referral Service/Reception
Our volunteers will do their best to provide suitable referrals to assist with all general community enquiries. Our IRS/Reception is open from 8.30am til 3pm Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursday, 7.45am til 3pm Wednesdays, and 8.30am til 12.30pm Fridays.
BINC is closed on Public Holidays and over the Christmas-New Year period.
Counselling and Family Support Service
A professional counselling service providing individual, family and child counselling for families with a child aged 17 years of under. This service has helped many families to get back on track when faced with difficulties concerning their family interactions, children’s development or behaviour or difficult relationship issues, including challenges arising in blended families.
Emergency Relief Service (ER)
The Emergency Relief Service (ER) provides practical support and information to local people in financial and related crisis. Residents of Bribie Island, Sandstone Point, Ningi, Godwin Beach or Beachmere and people who are homeless are eligible for the ER Service. People who do not live in these areas will be referred to other agencies.
While the ER Services tries to assist in times of need, our funds are specifically for an EMERGENCY or CRISIS and are not available on an ongoing or continuous basis.
Family and Relationship Services
This service provides a professional counselling service with flexible hours for any family member who is not eligible for the Counselling and Family Support Service.
